Hello All,
The last few days have been busy, but fun! At my job we do a lot of voice overs and interviews with artist and actors when they drop a new album or release a new movie.
Does anybody remember Al B. Sure? He dropped "Killing me Softly" back in the late 80's. He's been producing for the last 23-years. Well his sister is in Afghanistan and he wants to support the troops. Being who I am I told him I could coordinate a trip to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. He wants me to go with him. I told him I would love to, but I don't have the money in the Army, go figure. He said he would pay for my trip. Hey mom I'm going overseas.
I'll post pictures later this week.....time for pain meds. I feel like that Dunkin Donuts guy, "I got to make the donuts". Good night.

Wow, your life seems truly exciting. AL B. Sure was awesome! How many people can say they're going to the middle east with Al B. Sure??? Wasn't his son on some reality TV show recently?
ReplyDeleteGood stuff.
Toni that is SO exciting! What a great opportunity for you to finally go overseas for trip which isn't directly war-related. Reading your blog really makes me think about all the soldiers I've had contact with and their many daily battles with PTSD and various other issues. I really find it touching and it makes me reflect on my own life to be grateful for every day.
ReplyDelete(This is really a comment responding to the June 20 "Lupus 101" post, but for some reason I cannot get that comment feature to work though all the other ones do.)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with us. I think it is brave (and hopefully helpful) for you to share what you are going through with others (and for tackling school at the same time!) I recently met a man who wrote a book of poetry, A Body Less Perfect, about having Cerebral Palsy. Obviously, it was important for him to write about his experiences and feelings, but he also wrote it as a comfort to others who have it and to help the rest of us understand what they are going through. Your blog does the same. I think it is helpful that in your “about [you]” section you mention that the blog will help readers understand what it is like to have a chronic illness, helping us be aware that your blog can help us understand others with similar problems, even if not specifically from lupus.
You mentioned having chemotherapy treatments. I understand that “chemo” is a general term rather than a specific medication, but I associate it with a way of killing cancerous cells. I would be interested in learning (maybe in a future post) about how chemo helps with lupus. What is it doing to help? Is the common factor between chemotherapy for lupus and cancer the way the medicine is delivered?
Thank you - Rachel
D Brooks - I know it has been world wind! I love Al B Sure when I was coming up. He was so sexy. Check our this link, I can make it hyperlink so you have to cut and paste it.sexy.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_B._Sure
ReplyDeleteSerena - Thanks for your comments.
Rachel - I will get more into the chemo treatment on my next posting.
